On October 29, 2018, the 13th "overseas training program for university presidents from central and west region of China" was kicked off at NAEA. Liu Jin, director general of the office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan affairs of Ministry of Education. Zhang Ling, deputy secretary general of the CPC China Education International Exchange Association Committee, and Yu Jingtian, vice President of the NAEA attended the opening ceremony and delivered speech.

　　Liu Jin stated that 61 delegations have been organized and more than 1,300 university presidents of central and western China have been sent to Europe, the United States and other developed countries for studies since the initiation of the overseas study program in 2012, which was funded by Lee Siu- Kee Foundation and Hong Kong Pei Hua Education Foundation. She stressed that the program has been highly valued by the participants and achieved good results. It is of great importance for local colleges and universities to learn from the experience of higher education in developed countries, to improve quality and play a positive role in local colleges and universities. Especially in the current situation, the whole nation is studying and implementing the core spirit of the national education conference in the new era, which is also an important learning content of this training program. She asked everyone to take full use of the opportunity, study hard, observe discipline and focus on learning, and to share Chinese experience and stories with their international peers during their study abroad.

　　Zhang Ling expects participants to study well, live well, experience well and summarize well in the process of pre-departure program and overseas study. She stated that as one of the organizers of the program, China Education International exchange Association will, as always, provide high-quality services to all the participants.

　　Yu Jingtian gave a brief introduction about the oversea training program which NAEA has organized for many years. He also hoped that participants could change their roles in time, carry out learning tasks, and make preparations for overseas research and study.

　　This whole training program is divided into 5 groups, which will depart for the United States, Canada, Australia and Ireland for 3 weeks of overseas’ study.
